To respond to situations of racial or ethnic tension and to help build lasting, harmonious and accepting relationships.

Core Values
  1. God has given us the ministry and gospel of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).
  2. God has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth (Acts 17:26).
  3. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me to preach the gospel to the poor: He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18).
  4. “There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ” (Galatians 3:28).
  5. “Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes or daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well, keep warm and well fed but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? (James 2:16). To show love by doing.
Goals of the Ministry
  1. Model and preach the gospel of reconciliation and address all areas where walls, barriers and divisions exist, and assist in removing them.
  2. Increase awareness and sensitivity in areas of broken relationships.
  3. Help strengthen relationships among individuals of all people groups.
  4. Develop greater appreciation for ethnic, gender and cultural diversity.
  5. Help prepare others to avoid polarization in times of conflict and emotional upset.
  6. Enlist the services of qualified leaders in the area of race relations.
  7. Recommend helpful resources on the subject of reconciliation.
  8. Measure progress through effective feedback.
Ends/Results
  1. Greater awareness of race relations.
  2. Knowledge of, and sensitivity to conflict and broken relationships that exist among people everywhere.
  3. Better understanding of how to resolve racial conflict and other broken relationships that separate people.
  4. Better understanding of how to celebrate one’s own heritage without negatively impacting others.
  5. A greater appreciation of what it means to be one in Christ by living out these concepts.
Faith Goals
  1. We ask God to help us all to love one another as Jesus loves us.
  2. We ask God to raise up reconciliation leaders who can help advance the ministry.
  3. We ask God to lead us to be intentional and active in reaching out to all ethnic groups within and beyond the church.
  4. We ask God to soften the hearts of those we reach so that they will be open to our sharing of this valuable message of reconciliation.
