May Monthly Letter
Dear Reconciler Family,
Hope you had a wonderful and meaningful Lord’s Supper/Easter Season! Jannice and I certainly did. This time is a wonderful reminder of the unfailing love and awesomeness of our Great Father, Son and Holy Spirit!
It also reminds us of the reason Jesus came to this earth: to live, die and rise again. He did this out of his great love for us, and the rest of his creation! Another powerful reason was his great love for unity, peace and reconciliation! The world can never be pleasing to Him, the Father or the Holy Spirit as long as it is divided and filled with strife—or in other words, as long as it is without true reconciliation of His creation.
What a blessing to be included in the Ministry of Reconciliation, which has a special focus on this topic! Thank you for being part of the team, many of you for well over a decade. Your work in the Lord will never be forgotten, and I celebrate your loyalty and dedication.
Here’s a bit of news on what your support is helping to do. On April 3-5 I was invited by the ORM Chapter Leader in Cincinnati, Pastor George Hart, to go and conduct a seminar on reconciliation for the Milford Community School District. We met in the local church George pastors. It was a perfect setting and the event was well received with excellent participation.
Included in the audience were School Superintendent, Dr. Robert Farrell; Principal, Mark Lutz; Assistant Principal, Tom Wilson; Principal, Kelli Ellison; Assistant Principal, Ernie House; Assistant Principal, Austin Sanders; and the two curriculum directors, Dr. Jill Chin and Nancy House. Among the business leaders was a Toyota Executive, Eric M. Ellis, M.A., President and CEO of Integrity Development and Management Consulting. Other attendees included Ron Hickman, Director, Learning Media Development, Siemens PLM Software, and his wife, Becky Hickman, who is a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Mercy Clermont Hospital.
And although we had a number of leaders in the audience the atmosphere was reconciliatory and Spirit-led. It was interactive with lots of open discussion including questions and answers. I believe the end result was a transformation that promoted real reconciliation.
The Cycle of Oppression handout that I use in my workshops captured the attention of the audience, and was one source of discussion. Ironically, on the return flight home, I got into a discussion on the topic of race with another passenger and I pulled it out. We had about a 90-minute conversation. He insisted on taking it home to share with his family, so I gave it to him.
As always, thank you for your kind support and effective prayers. They are the engines that keep us moving forward as we allow Jesus to work in us helping Reconcile the world to the Father, the Holy Spirit and Himself. May God continue to bless and keep you in His loving care.
In His Service,
