November letter

November 2008

Dear Reconciler Family,

I would like to begin by thanking you for your loyal support for over a decade. Your prayerful and financial support has been very encouraging and reinforcing. Many of you have been part of this Ministry almost since its inception. So in this letter I would like to share with you some of the things that we have been able to accomplish over the first 3 quarters of this year and the costs:

  • Held two Ministry Development Conferences to train pastors and other leaders on Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation in Atlanta, Georgia, and Richmond, Virginia. Held another one through teleconferencing.
  • Gave sermons in a number of churches across the nation on the topic of Reconciliation and Oneness.
  • Held a Chapter Leader’s Training Conference in Detroit, Michigan, and commissioned five new chapter leaders and added four new chapters (one chapter leader replaced a previous one).
  • Took part in a Community Outreach Dinner-Dance in Tucson, Arizona, and interfaced with a number of people from the community.
  • Attended the Pasadena Police Department’s 37th Annual Awards Banquet. ORM received seven Certificates of Appreciation and the Chief’s Partnership Award plaque.
  • Received the 29th Annual Telly Award for our new DVD titled A Time to Reconcile. Some exciting doors seem to be opening up already as a result of the DVD. I will announce some of them in my next letter as they are confirmed. I will keep you in the loop.
  • Chapter Leaders across America, Canada, the UK, Africa and Ireland served in their communities. They were involved in conflict resolution and reconciliation in prisons, courts, schools, police departments, churches and other organizations. Please take a look at our ORM web site and learn more about what we’re doing. We are currently updating it and have added a blog.

Just to keep you updated on the costs, I would like to share with you the following list of expenditures, and projections for next year: Wages for part-time secretary, Professional fees, Postage, Transportation, Lodging, Meals, Mileage, Mailing, Contracted services and Supplies. The total cost for the first 3 quarters was $34,000. We have received about the same amount in donations. We went into the year with a small reserve which we maintain at this time.

Projected activities for next year are basically the same as this year; often we get unexpected requests for help in the area of conflict. I predict that we will have a number of speaking assignments and several workshops and training sessions with different organizations as listed above.

I thank God for all He has accomplished through your faithful backing of His Ministry of Reconciliation. Please keep us in mind as we go through these tough times of a world economic crisis.

In Service of the King,

Curtis May
ORM Director
