April Monthly Letter
Dear Reconciler Family,
I can’t believe how fast this year is passing! It seems that it passes more rapidly “when we’re having fun” as the saying goes. And knowing what we know about God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit and all they have done for us and continue to do is thrilling, and generates great joy!
I came to appreciate the work of the Great Triune God more deeply at a conference In Lexington, Kentucky last month. It was the annual Minister’s Wives’ Conference conducted by my wife, Jannice. One of the guest speakers was Linda Allen. She discussed some of the negative things that we have grown up hearing about ourselves, and how Satan and some people continue to feed these destructive words and feelings. She also pointed out how we internalize them as if they were true.
It was indeed great timing as we approach the Easter Season, which highlights powerfully the Great Unconditional Love of God for us, His tremendous sacrifice for us, and His Guarantee to never leave nor forsake us despite our weaknesses, and His Guarantee that we’re totally forgiven through Him.
She went on to discuss ways to combat these negative thoughts and feelings by listening to the Love Language of our God, and understanding how firm and unconditional His promises are. She gave a number of passages confirming His Love for us, and explaining how God has reconciled us to Himself for all eternity. Nobody can change that. It doesn’t depend on our works or our thoughts and feelings. Below is a list of passages that she shared, which were put together by Author Rapha, from the New American standard Translation of the Bible.
BECAUSE OF REDEMPTION
By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God sent His only Begotten Son into the world so that we might have life through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:9-11
I am fully pleasing
Therefore having been justified by faith we have the peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1
I am totally acceptable and accepted
And although you were formally alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach…Colossians 1:21-22.
I am a new creation—complete in Christ
…and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the head over all rule and authority. Colossians 2:10
May these passages be a blessing to you as we approach the Lord’s Supper and Easter knowing that we don’t have to believe the lies of the Devil.
Thank you for being a blessing to others as you support this Ministry in spreading the Gospel of Reconciliation.
