August 2008 Subscriber Letter

Dear Reconciler Family,

On Tuesday, July 29, a group of local ORM team members and supporters celebrated some of the achievements of the ministry. Wish you all could have been there. We shared food, fun, fellowship and testimonials on how reconciliation is a move of God. It was held at Parker Media Studio, hosted by owner, Pam Mosher.

As we recounted steps in the development of the promotional DVD, “A Time to Reconcile,” and its winning of the Telly Award, it became very obvious that God put the “puzzle” together! He, in a profound way, brought together some very gifted and professional people who were willing to lend their experience to the project. They became emotionally involved with the content-which is, of course, reconciliation. Those involved were from different ethnicities, faiths and backgrounds. Also in attendance were Pastor Rand Holm and his wife, Beth, whose congregation donated funds to help start production of the video.

I would like to thank all of you for your contributions and standing with us in this “long, hot summer” financially. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as well. We are scheduled to hold our biennial ORM All Chapter Leaders’ Conference in Detroit, MI, on September 12-14 and solicit your prayerful support.

Some have asked, “What is the Telly Award?” Here is a brief summary:

The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. Since 1978 their mission has been to strengthen the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting and supporting creativity. The 28th Annual Telly Awards received over 14,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents. All judges are top advertising and production professionals, and past Telly winners.

We received second-place award in the non-profit category in the 29th Annual Telly Awards. By the way, actor Morgan Freeman has won two Tellys in the non-profit category.
Sincerely in His service,

Curtis May
