August 2021 Monthly Letter

Dear Reconcilers,

From time to time I like to highlight the good work our chapter leaders are doing. This month Tom Pickett will share about his Ministry.

When we go back to see how our reconciliation ministry began, we have to find our starting place. This is where we say “yes” to Jesus because it is his ministry.

My starting point was when I said yes to Curtis May’s request to host a Racial Reconciliation Workshop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1997. He told me to contact Cherie in Houston, Texas and she would tell me what I needed to do. That call changed my life!

Cherie asked me to contact everyone in Harrisburg and invite them to this workshop to be held in August 1998. I invited the entire local government, all pastors, and all of the racial groups in the entire city. This planning and preparation took 9 months. It proved to be an exhilarating experience!

In 1999, I was transferred as pastor to Fort Worth, Texas. There my definition of reconciliation broadened to include our reconciliation in Christ. I shared that message with the listeners on KCLE radio out of Cleburne, Texas for 5½ years. Curtis May joined the program once a month.

The radio station shut down because of financial concerns. That led me to doing video programs and to my present job, filming “A Time to Reconcile” programs on World Trumpet TV. All of this happened because of a relationship that started 20 years ago in 2001. I met a young man from Uganda, Mike Kingsley, who came to the United States to bring about a revival. We have shared ministry many times, and he shared his dreams about starting a TV network that would bring about a national and worldwide revival. He asked me to serve on his Advisory Board and to do a weekly program on World Trumpet TV.

This opportunity officially started in April 2021, and has been going well ever since. I share about our reconciliation in Christ, which is stated in 2 Corinthians 5:14-21. Jesus reconciled us to our father so that we would be his children forever. This was made possible through our sins being forgiven, and Jesus’ righteousness being attributed to us.

You can watch “A Time to Reconcile” on Roku, DIRECTV®, Apple, Amazon, Firestick or go to www.worldtrumpettv.com/ on your computer and then click “On DEMAND.”

Thank you to Mr. Curtis May for being faithful to Jesus and for giving me this opportunity to share our reconciliation in Christ with the whole world, along with my fellow ORM chapter leaders and the faithful donors to ORM ministry.
