December letter

                                                                                                            December 2008

Dear Reconciler Family,

Let me begin this letter by thanking you for your responses to my last letter.  As you may remember, I asked you to consider helping us get through this financially difficult year.  You are responding so I’m very grateful!

It’s a blessing being able to meet our needs so far and respond to opportunities that have opened up to us.  We are also in the process of completing and mailing our last issue of Reconcile for 2008.  It is chock full of relevant and informative articles.

And to our surprise, ORM won another award – the Davey Award.  We won the silver award which is second place.  The Davey Award “honors the creative excellence of smaller agencies and companies worldwide.”  It’s awarded to small organizations with big ideas.  The Davey name has reference to David and Goliath.  “David had a small rock with a big idea,” they say.

We eagerly look forward to 2009 and what it will bring.  We believe that with God not even “the sky is the limit.”

One opportunity that’s opening to us that will give us greater exposure and opportunity to serve is a request from Auburn University.  They asked me to conduct a 5-hour workshop (including lunch) on “Fulfilling the Dream.”  It’s part of their Martin Luther King community outreach program commemorating his birthday.  It’s also the 100th anniversary of the NAACP, founded in 1909 in Niagara Falls.

We look forward to other opportunities as they open up to us.  God is blessing your prayers and donations, and He’s accomplished a great deal with a small budget.

Much appreciation as we launch into next year.  And may this Advent Season lift you up to new levels in the Lord!

                                                                                                            Love and blessings,
